My journey to a new beginning

Finding the courage to leave

One of the most pivotal moments in my life was making the decision to walk away from a relationship that no longer served me. It was a difficult choice, leaving the man I thought I'd be with forever. This step was about reclaiming my worth and understanding that I deserved true happiness and respect. It was a testament to finding inner strength when I thought there was none left.

Reconnecting with faith

One of the most profound parts of my journey has been learning to read the Bible and reconnecting with God. This spiritual awakening provided a foundation of hope and purpose that transformed my perspective. It taught me that even after significant challenges, there is always a higher power guiding us toward healing and happiness. This renewed faith was instrumental in my recovery and continues to be a source of strength.

Continuing my journey of recovery and self-discovery

Since that pivotal moment 15 years ago, my life has been a testament to resilience and growth. The path to sobriety and self-discovery has been filled with challenges, but each obstacle has ultimately led to deeper understanding and strength. I've learned the importance of living authentically and embracing every step of the journey, knowing that each experience shapes who I am today. My journey is ongoing, and I continue to learn and evolve. I am passionate about sharing my experiences to inspire others, encouraging them to find their own paths to healing and happiness. Through Keep Comin' Back", I hope to foster a community where everyone feels empowered to seek help and embrace their own unique story of recovery.

(My daughter made this for me at 7 years sober)

In 2017, I faced another significant challenge when I had 65% of my right lung removed due to cancer. The surgery was complex, damaging nerves and leading to permanent disability. This unexpected turn meant retiring, a future I had never envisioned. However, this period also opened doors to new possibilities. After the COVID-19 pandemic locked us to our homes, I went through an empty nester phase. I finally decided I had to much time on my hands. I decided to pursue what they were calling a chance to go after your dream of pursuing a  higher education. The next thing I know I was enrolled at Colorado Christian University (yep, a Christian University). I figured I would get throwed out when they found out I had never sat down and read the Bible, (I owned one). This academic journey profoundly changed my perspective on life, myself, and God by equipping me with new tools to understand not only others, but for the first time, I found myself and I found love in Jesus Christ. Now, at 67, my goal is to leverage my experiences and education to help others navigate their own challenges, offering guidance and hope through my stories. You are not alone! If we can't find help here, we will find someone who can.

I created this space because I know what it feels like to be lonely, to feel alone, to struggle, and to fight my way back. After surviving cancer, living with COPD, and walking through recovery, I've learned that communication and support are powerful tools. Both are essential to our health, no matter what stage of life we are in. So...
